Your PowerPoint isn’t the problem. The file is.

Before you pay for a PowerPoint redesign or a new pitch deck, check whether the thing failing you is the slides or the way they travel.

Jeremiah Simpson ·

Every few years a sales team decides the deck is tired and goes looking for PowerPoint design services. The slides get a refresh, the logo lockup gets fixed, and for a quarter everyone feels better. Then the same complaints come back: reps are sending old versions, nobody knows if the buyer opened it, and the pitch that took a year to sharpen lands as a 40 MB attachment somebody skims on a phone.

The slides were never the problem. The file was.

Four things a file does to a good pitch

  • It forks. The moment it is sent, there are two copies, and by the end of the quarter there are forty.
  • It goes dark. An attachment tells you nothing about whether it was opened, which pages were read, or who it was forwarded to.
  • It cannot be personalized without being duplicated. Every tailored version is another file to maintain.
  • It was drawn for a projector. On the phone where most buyers actually open it, a slide is a postcard.

What changes when the story ships as a link

Keep the story. Keep the brand. Change the container. A hosted interactive presentation is one build at one address: each recipient gets their own link with their name and context merged in, a change reaches everyone who already has it, and it reports back which screens each person read and for how long. It reads properly on a phone because it was designed for one, and it can sit on your website as well as in an inbox.

That is the difference between a pitch deck redesign and a pitch deck rebuild. The first makes the file prettier. The second retires the file.

When the file is still right

Sometimes a PowerPoint is exactly the right thing: a board meeting, a conference slot, a deck presented once and never sent. If that is your situation, a polished deck is the right deliverable, and one of us specializes in building them.

If your deck gets sent more than it gets presented, send us the one you use today. We rebuild one section as an interactive presentation, free, so you can judge the difference on your own material rather than ours.
